Brown Blossom Rising, founded in December 2021, cultivates healing for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) and Queer, Transgender, and People of Color (QTPoC) Community.

BBR (re)imagines and (re)creates healing for Black and Brown community through a radical, trauma informed, and culturally responsive lens with the understanding that the system was not designed for BIPOC people.

Nicole “Nikki” Abeleda, LCSW #118232

Connector, Therapist, & Community Organizer

Nikki Abeleda (She/They/Siya) is a First-Generation Queer Filipinx who has worked in direct service and advocacy for 8 years in community based organizations. She is the co-founder of Sacramento Filipinx LGBTQIA+ and founder of Brown Blossom Rising. Currently, Nikki is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with children, adults, and LGBTQIA+ populations in Behavioral Health and is a psychotherapist at Sweet Mango Therapy Group, Inc. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento and Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Boston College with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health, specializing in Neuroscience, and was awarded the Dean’s Leadership Award. Nikki serves and advocates for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and LGBTQIA+ communities utilizing transformative and restorative justice practices in all aspects of her work.
